TOPIC: PROVOKING A PROPHECY
TEXTS: 2Kings 3:14 – 20
INTRODUCTION: When
a word of prophecy comes through a true prophet of God, it is an
extremely powerful thing. The reason prophecy is so powerful is that it
is God speaking in the language of men. Amos 3:7-8; Psalm 33:8-9; 2
Chronicles 20:20.
HOW SHOULD I RELATE TO THE WORD OF PROPHECY?
- Receive it by faith, even if you do not understand how it could ever happen. Luke 1:34; Psalm 33:8-9.
- Do not ask for signs. Luke 1:13-20.
- If you have any doubt concerning a word of prophecy, please keep your mouth shut. 2 Kings 7:1-2.
- Pray your prophecy into manifestation. 1 Kings 18:41-45. Hold on to God until the miracle happens.
HOW CAN I PROVOKE A PROPHECY?
i. Intense praise and worship. 2 Kings 3:14-20; Psalm 22:3.
ii. Put God first. 1 Kings 17: 8-16.
iii. Seek to know and meet the needs of a genuine man of God, especially your pastor. 2 Kings 4:8-17.
iv. Give God an offering that is worthy of Him and worthy of you. 2 Kings 5:1-14.
CONCLUSION: Always
remember when you give God a gift that God is not a beggar. There is a
way you can give something to the Almighty God that will cause Him to
say a word to you.
